Kevin Kinahan
Candidate for Wildrose in Lethbridge West
Kevin Kinahan was born in Medicine Hat in 1964 and moved to Lethbridge at the age of four. Kevin has been living in Coaldale for the past 19 years with his wife Christine and their three children; Mickenzie, Raeanne and Donovan.
Kevin managed to take all of his schooling in Lethbridge attending the Lethbridge Community College where he was in the Business Administration program before transferring to the University of Lethbridge where he obtained his B. Ed. with a major in Business Education and a minor in Mathematics. Kevin has been in education for the past 21 years, with the past 10 years in administration. He is currently in his second year as the principal at St. Patrick School in Taber after serving as principal at St. Joseph School in Coaldale for the previous four years. He has served as a rep on the ATA local as well as on the Economic Policy Committee and the Negotiating Sub-Committee. He has also served as a Religious Education rep, Tech lead teacher and Math lead teacher. He currently sits on the provincial planning committee for the annual Catholic School Trustees and Administrator’s Conference (BluePrints).
Kevin has lived his whole life in Southern Alberta and understands well what it means to live in a rural community. Our family and our values make us the people that we are and that will never change. Family is the backbone of small town Alberta, not just immediate family but extended family and friends as well. We need to always be working together for the needs of others, to be there for our neighbors. Coming from a family of eight children, Kevin learned how to get along by putting the needs of others ahead of his own. Our values are what guides us in all that we do and what guides Kevin is the value and dignity of human life, especially in fighting for those who cannot fight for themselves.
Kevin has always been an active member of his community, especially with the youth. He has coached basketball for over 20 years from the Southern Alberta Under 16 Rep team to High School and Grade 6. An active member with the Knights of Columbus since the age of 18, he has held a number of positions as well as organized many youth and community activities.
“I want to be the MLA in the Lethbridge West riding because I know that I will represent the people well. I have many contacts throughout Southern Alberta and they all know that they can trust me to work for them. Once elected, I will continue to keep in contact with all of my constituents and will continue to work hard for them and for their values.Lethbridge and Southern Alberta is ready for a change. We are ready for a party that will represent us and which has the same values as we have.”
